From the 20th – 22th of August the gourmet market “Funen Temptations” will take place for the second time in Faaborg. Producers from all over Funen present their produce and regional specialties during these days of culinary indulgence.

 

Gastronomic experiences spiced up with local specialties are readily available in our area during the whole year. The wide variety of local produce suppliers and excellent restaurants take big pride in their products resulting in very high quality.

 

One of the most famous inns, in Denmark as well as abroad, is “Faldsled Kro”. Here the guests are pampered with gourmet food of the highest standard.

 

“Steensgaard Herregaardspension Hotel and Restaurant” is celebrating its 700^th birthday this year. The place is well known outside Denmark due to its many traditions, its local agricultural produce that is used in their kitchen to produce culinary delights.

 

Chocolatier “Konnerup Chokolade” is a must for those of you with a sweet tooth. All summer you can take part in guided tours at the chocolatier “Konnerup Chokolade” and get a firsthand impression of the exciting chocolate production. Please visit the shop in the village of “Vester Aaby” situated to the east of Faaborg and give in to indulgence.

 

Smoked or fresh fish is linked to all harbour towns as rye bread is linked to a traditional Danish lunch. At several places in Faaborg you can enjoy lovely fish dishes, buy all sorts of fresh fish that you can prepare yourself, as well as choose from a large selection of smoked fish.

 

A wide range of dairy products can be bought from the different local dairies in the area.
